Overview
Optimize existing property base by analyzing relevant data and providing reserve estimates, production forecasts and economic projections. Identify, prioritize, recommend, present, and monitor oil and gas development and exploitation projects. Compile and analyze all available data into a complete history of and plan for future development of oil and gas fields.
Responsibilities
Analyze data and perform complex: economic evaluations using ARIES; volumetric reserve estimates; material balance calculations, pressure transient analysis, formation evaluation, decline curve analysis and production forecasting.
Perform complex data analysis to formulate conclusions that contribute to improved detailed reservoir understanding or characterization.
Evaluate development scenarios, reserve profiles, and profitability on existing properties and/or exploration/acquisition ideas with complete tactical analysis.
Assess and recommend new opportunities across existing properties or leasehold.
Perform complex well/field studies to identify and generate workover, recompletion and drilling projects.
Prepare and analyze economic evaluations, reserves evaluations, and production forecasts.
Conduct thorough economic evaluation of acquisitions and divestitures and exploration and development opportunities, including tactical implications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
Ability to handle multiple assignments of diverse tasks with differing priorities by using effective time and project management with technically and economically sound recommendations.
Be a strong mentor to junior engineers and engineering technicians.
Effectively communicate, contribute, and when needed, lead multi-disciplined teams.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
8+ years oil/gas engineering experience with at least 3 years in a reservoir engineering role preferred
Experience in performing advanced reserve and economic evaluations preferred
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, petroleum engineering preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Highly engaged Reservoir Engineer, driven by solving complex problems, exploring for oil and gas, optimizing development plans and improving well profitability; capable of contributing in multi-disciplined teams
Demonstrated experience and application of advanced reservoir engineering and economic evaluation principles across multiple onshore basins.
Thorough knowledge of reservoir engineering and understanding of open hole and production log analysis and interpretation techniques.
History of integrating core analysis, petrophysics and simulation in reservoir evaluation, as well as development optimization
Has a good understanding of and uses knowledge of related disciplines. Well-developed project management and organization skills. Skilled in application of advanced reservoir engineering methods throughout well/field life cycle.
Experience in advanced well test analysis in oil and gas reservoirs.
Advanced experience with ARIES and Fekete F.A.S.T. RTA, with general knowledge of Geographix and FracPro or similar software
Experience in utilizing complex forecasting/monitoring/evaluating methods for unconventional reservoirs.
Project assignments are usually more complex in terms of special, difficult and/or highly technical problems. Solves unusual or complex problems requiring complete understanding of reservoir engineering methods with little assistance. Keeps abreast of developments in reservoir engineering and technical operations. Encourages and demonstrates application of new technology. Work typically impacts the success or profitability of large/complex projects. Fully supports corporate culture.
Assignments are outlined in terms of general objectives. Proceeds on own initiative and judgment. Receives little direct guidance and/or assistance on projects to which assigned including those deemed very difficult and/or complex in nature.
Serve as a mentor to less experienced engineers and technologists. Capable of providing formal technical engineering presentations in particular area of expertise.
Recognized by the Business Unit and the corporate leadership team as a highly qualified engineering professional. Application and display of company leadership principles and behaviors are commonly visible in everyday work approach and manner.

Work Environment
Minimal exposure to extreme weather changes and humidity/moisture relative to atmospheric condition variations, and includes some exposure to extreme summer and winter temperatures as well as rain, sleet and snow
Possible exposure to dust, chemicals, gases, fumes, smoke, excessive noise and/or vibrations
Work generally performed in an industrial environment with various hazards and noise exposure
Travel may be required for assignments, meetings and training
The job also requires availability for rotating on-call schedule, occasional unscheduled call-outs and extended workdays and/or workweeks
