Job Description:
The Reservoir Engineer will analyze large data sets to support field development optimization efforts. The successful candidate will be comfortable integrating structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources into data-driven or physics-based reservoir and well models. The engineer will primarily focus on reservoir issues, but will interact with specialist of other disciplines, geophysics, geomechanics, geology, production, completion, drilling, etc.
Essential Functions:
Perform essential reservoir engineering studies utilizing decline-curve analysis, material balance, volumetric analysis, pressure-transient analysis, rate-transient analysis, etc.
Analyze and evaluate producing well performance with respect to geological characteristics, completions strategies, and production methodology
Forecast future production of producing wells as well as undeveloped properties
Perform full economic analysis on well/prospect/project basis
Support operations engineering team in performance and economic evaluation of potential workover projects
Work with multidisciplinary team to promote continual performance optimization
Extract well reservoir data from various databases and flat files
Perform basic statistics on datasets to explore trends, patterns, outliers and clusters
Use heuristics, data driven or physics based methods to impute data
Bring together data from various disciplines into machine learning or physics based models to analyze the geologic and production potential of various well targets, the performance of different drilling, completion and production strategies
Create presentation and Spotfire dashboards to communicate results and distribute the analysis
Develop new workflows and models to analyze unconventional reservoirs and wells and identify value creation opportunities within large datasets
Work with multidisciplinary team to identify and execute a strategically optimized asset development schedule

Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
Five (5) + years of reservoir and/or production engineering experience, preferably in unconventional reservoir analysis
Experience with MS Office
Experience with ARIES, Harmony, and/or Spotfire preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to communicate and work effectively with all personnel involved in resource development processes
Ability to make technically and economically sound recommendations with limited data /information
Understanding of oil and gas finance in relation to reserves and economics
Ability to manage multiple tasks and efficiently prioritize work to meet deadlines
Experience with Spotfire
Experience with statistics, machine learning and data mining algorithms
Experience with databases
Excellent communication skills
Advanced analytical skills with an aptitude for math
Proven ability to interact effectively with a multidisciplinary team
