Kuala LumpurMember of the subsurface surveillance team reporting directly to the Subsurface Team Lead but responsible to Head of Reservoir Engineering.

Maintain surveillance programme to manage all PM304 producing reservoirs within reservoir management plan (RMP).

Maintain production and pressure databases.

Prepare short-term and long-term production forecasts for liftings, budgets and long-term planning.

Prepare End of Year Reserves.

Maintain reservoir simulation models to support reservoir development, depletion planning and reserves assessment.

Ensure integration of and consistency between engineering and geological interpretations by collaborating with reservoir and petroleum engineers, petrophysicists, geologists and geophysicists.

Implement reservoir engineering best practices and ensure adherence to company/PETRONAS standards, policies and guidelines.

Maintain the flow of data between Partners, Petronas and internal stakeholders.

Supervise and mentor less experienced engineers in all aspects of reservoir surveillance and management.

Primary Duties:
Responsible for proactively leading the management of risk to people with the team.

Ensure that Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Asset Integrity personal objectives and targets are understood at all level.

Delivery of reservoir management plans to optimise stakeholder interests and value:

Formulate, review, and enhance reservoir management plans and reservoir surveillance plans

Identify, propose, and evaluate opportunities to improve hydrocarbon production and recovery

Provide support to other groups in well intervention, data acquisition, etc.

Prepare production forecasts using simulation models and/or other acceptable techniques

Identify, plan, and manage out-sourced projects efficiently and effectively

Identify, perform and/or supervise reservoir engineering studies as required

Ensure technical quality control; maintain technical standards, monitor, recommend and apply best practices.

Ensure a comprehensive range in subsurface understanding is passed to production forecasts, ensuring input, approaches and assumptions used are consistent.

Participate in cross-asset Peer and Technical Reviews as required.

Contribute as required to Asset Documentation.

Strictly adhere to Corporate and Departmental HSE policies & guidelines.

Provide technical endorsement for related HSE critical activities.

Mentoring & developing young Malaysian staff will be an integral part of job.

Desired Skills and Experience:
Degree in relevant subsurface discipline (reservoir/petroleum engineering) or equivalent.

Minimum 12 years relevant practical experience with at least 4 years in reservoir management/surveillance.

The candidate would ideally have previous supervisory experience, or the candidate is looking to step into a supervisory role.

Sound cross discipline skills, with an understanding from geoscience through reservoir engineering to petroleum and well engineering.

A good understanding of upstream processes.

Extensive knowledge of and working experience in all aspects of petroleum engineering, field reservoir development and ongoing production management through to abandonment.

Practical knowledge of well design and associated flow assurance issues (inc. Gas Lift Design, Sand Control, Corrosion, scale, wax etc).

Experienced in production enhancement justification and operations including gas lift optimisation, perforations, scale & wax removal, stimulation.

Experienced in building and maintaining strong relationships with Government, JV partners and Service Providers and managing associated contractual arrangements.

Clear understanding of hydrocarbon resource estimation and reserves audit procedures.

Be self-motivated to accomplish world-class results, generally positive in outlook, and able to cope in a dynamic environment.

Possess, or strive to possess, skills in project and team management, including planning of works, budgeting and control against plan and budget

Have a sufficiently broad experience base to be able to exercise independent thought and decision making.

Good interpersonal skills, including ability to plan and present a coherent story to both direct reports as well as partners and management.

Computer literate and have a strong written and verbal command of English.
