Description

Reporting to the Manager,
Reservoir Engineering, the Senior Reservoir Engineer will provide overall
subsurface engineering support and coordination to PCC JV (joint venture)
assets which includes conventional oil and gas, and unconventional shale and
tight gas assets. This role will work closely with different PCC JV asset teams,
JV partners and PCC internal multidisciplinary team members including Geoscience,
Planning, Land, Production and Operations to ensure PCC business goal for JV
Assets are achieved.

This position is based
out of the Calgary Head Office.

Field visits are
required, but not on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

Manage
day to day activities related to the JV properties, field and office.

Attend
JV TCM meeting and review JV partners’ proposals to ensure PCC interest is
optimized

Works
with multidisciplinary team members and JV partners including Production, Operation,
Geosciences, etc. to understand and optimize field production operations on a regular
basis

Monitors
the operational activities of JV asset and QC the budget, cost and work
proposals and make recommendation to PCC JV management

Conducts
analog studies of other competitors’ project and compare with PCC JV asset to
provide potential optimization

Gather
and analyze production data and propose operational optimization strategies based
on project requirements

Works
closely with areal geologist, land, to review asset and provide business
strategies for potential A&D; opportunities

Conducts
reservoir analysis based on production data and update type curves and
forecasts to support LRP (long range plan)

Conducts
development planning scenario sensitivity studies to support PCC LRP and asset
optimization

Support
asset in the preparation of short and long term plans for the PCC operated
areas.

Annual
work plan budget preparation, AFE management and approvals for work tickets and
invoices.

Maintain
a strong working relationship with JV partners and contracted service
providers.

Ensure
that safety and environmental policies are adhered to and administered to the
satisfaction of PCC asset

Supports
reserve evaluation process and review reserve reports

Supports
reporting internal and to shareholders as required

Mentors
junior engineers and/or internship students as required

Qualifications:

Undergraduate
degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum)

APEGA
Professional Engineer Accreditation

Advanced
degree an asset

10+
years’ oil and gas industry related experience with 5+ years of reservoir
engineering experience in conventional and unconventional shale/tight gas experience
required

Experience
in the decline analysis, PVT, and reservoir simulation

Experience
using geoSCOUT, Value-Navigator or equivalent

Knowledge
of geological principles impacting reservoir and production performance

Strong
interpersonal skills, ability to work well with diverse personalities and work
force

Ability
to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups both
internal and external

Strong
written and oral communication skills

Able
to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of
unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a
dynamic business environment

Ability
to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them

Strong
analytical, critical thinking, troubleshooting, problem-solving skills, and a
high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Legally
authorized to work in Canada

Ability
to travel to site as required
