Senior Reservoir Engineer - Contract - BrisbaneOur client and integrated oil and gas company with significant presence across Australia have engaged Airswift to recruit a Senior Reservoir Engineer to work within their offices located in Brisbane CBD.Overview:The successful applicant will be highly competent in reservoir modelling and simulation. Be able to demonstrate the applicability of these competencies to CBM reservoir engineering problems and to the definition and reduction of subsurface uncertainties within this reservoir type. Problem solving, eye for delivery of robust products and working with one team mentality is essential.The main purpose of the role is to act as an individual contributor in the field of reservoir engineering within a multi-functional team as part of an operated non-conventional production team.Responsibilities:Our client will require you to apply your expertise and professional judgment in devising and leading projects and studies.Present completed analysis and recommendations at peer reviews, peer assists and functional reviews as part of the value assurance framework.Provide leadership in sub-surface dynamic reservoir performance characterisation for non-conventional reservoirs. Ensure all reservoir uncertainties are identified and incorporated into forward appraisal and development plans.Influencing and defining data acquisition programmes and integration of production reservoir surveillance data into full field CBM simulation models.Support delivery of reservoir engineering elements of the company field development plan and support delivery of area subsurface reservoir engineering workstreams ensuring functional/technical consistency across teams.Ensure all own evaluations are documented and related data are handled in accordance with relevant technical standards.Background / Skillset:Master’s degree or equivalent in Petroleum Engineering.Proven track record in reservoir modelling and reservoir characterisation, dynamic history matching, well performance forecasting, reserves assessments and development planningDealing with complex field planning issues and placing them in an overall business context for supporting strategic business decisionsWork within and collaborate with multi-disciplinary subsurface team(s), production and concept engineering and other asset entities.The position requires incumbents to fully appreciate diversity and to have excellent people management skills; will operate in a fluid environment and will need to rely on drive, personal experience and judgment.Advanced problem-solving skills and track record of being solution driven.CSG experience in a reservoir engineering capacity is a strong preference for this role.Summary:This opportunity is offering market rate 12-month term local contract in Brisbane, individuals with works rights in Australia as well as a locality on the East Coast of Australia are encouraged to apply. Proven delivery in a similar role with at least 3-5 years’ operating at senior engineer level is desirable.
