This is a position in the Global Unconventional Reservoir Management Reservoir Surveillance and Optimization team. Serves as a technical resource supporting Equinor’s Onshore Assets. Willison Basin, Eagle Ford or Appalachian basin experience is preferred.
Perform field-scale forecasting activities, conduct well surveillance, and coordinate optimization and pilot activities to enhance well and field production rates.
The main work tasks will be:
Perform monthly asset field-scale production forecasting and participate in field development processes to optimize valueMonitor field and well production rates and evaluate performance relative to forecasts and targetsEvaluate well performance and identify production enhancement and optimization opportunitiesProactively identify potential production challenges and formulate remedial solutionsExecute analysis to assist on artificial lift, chemical program, sand production, water management, choke management, etcExecute nodal and network analysis to optimize well and production system design and operationContribute to data acquisition program and pilots to improve existing and future well productivityEvaluate artificial lift, workover, and intervention economicsPerform additional special projects and duties as directed by managementCollaborate with other groups such as Production Engineering, Drilling and Completions Engineering, Facilities, HSE, Regulatory, Midstream, Production Accounting, etc to ensure maximum value creation
QualificationsBachelor or Master’s Degree in a Petroleum Engineering disciplineAt least 5+ years of experience with Unconventional Reservoirs in the United States. Production and/or reservoir engineering experience preferredExperience in a variety of artificial lift operations and designKnowledgeable in well surveillance and optimizationStrong technical and economic evaluation skillsAbility to effectively use well data and production databasesStrong Office365 skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, OutlookPreferred software experience: Enersight, Integrated Production Modeling suites (example PETEX IPM/IFM), SCADA, Cygnet, Spotfire, Merrick, Aries, IHS HarmonyOffice based in Austin, TXSome travels and field visitsRelevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
