Sr. Reservoir Engineer

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Provide engineering expertise (field development scenario planning, production profiles, recognizing potential flow assurance problems and solutions, cost estimation, economic evaluation, etc.) in support of new and existing exploration opportunities.

? Provide expertise in reservoir characterization including basic log analysis, well test interpretation, PVT and SCAL analysis.

? Build and optimize 3-D reservoir simulation and flow system models using Landmark Nexus software.

? Well performance surveillance and accurate production forecasting utilizing classic reservoir engineering methods and/or reservoir simulation.

? Actively involved in EOR/IOR strategy optimization including water injection, gas lifting, sub-sea pumps, etc.

? Recommend well recompletion and field development strategies for existing fields.

? Participate in peer-based risk and resource estimation processes; ensure internal processes are adhered to in conducting evaluations; seek input from peers to ensure technical high quality is achieved in evaluations.

? Recommend, propose and incorporate best practices in planning and executing any reservoir engineering activities.

? Leading or directly involved in estimating hydrocarbon reserves in proven or prospective fields and work with the G&G team and Reserve Auditors to ensure a thorough and rigorous technical analysis that follows best industry practices.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • B.S. degree
  • 10-15 years? experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Solid understanding of engineering economic evaluations including competency with Aries or other economic software programs.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical application of volumetric calculations, decline curve reserve determinations, appropriate analogue techniques, and material balance assessments.
