Description

Our client is a fast growing producer with assets located throughout Canada and the United States

Recommend, manage and integrate various reservoir studies including geo-modeling, reservoir modeling, geochemistry, petrophysics, production performance, pressure transient test and other data in planning future development

Responsibilities:

  • Recommend special data requirement and evaluation techniques
  • Build and/or update simulation models and integrate with the surface network model;
  • Generate forecasts - short term, medium term and Life of Field
  • Identify potential well targets and justify them to management
  • Generate subsurface justifications and well proposals for future wells, in main reservoir and in deeper reservoirs identified by the appraisal wells
  • Analyze and plan well tests;
  • Monitor production volumes on wells within an assigned geographic area utilizing various techniques for tracking production performance
  • Work closely with production engineering staff to optimize artificial lifts and facility performance
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to generate and recommend plans of development, evaluate and recommend new well locations for asset team
  • Analyze and post-appraise performance, and generate type curves for predicting future performance
  • Develop economic models that capture key issues for use in decisions regarding development options in assigned asset areas
  • Assist in managing various budgets and planning exercises
  • Support additional corporate planning and business development needs
  • Responsible for estimating reserves for current producing wells, uncaptured opportunities and for performing SEC reserve studies

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Engineering or related +5 years of experience in tight gas sand or shale gas production for oil and production industry

Must have a strong technical background in reservoir engineering and undertaking integrated reservoir studies, including a strong understanding of reservoir characterization, special core analysis, pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) analysis, oil and gas phase behavior, volumetric calculations, well tests, recovery estimates, reservoir performance and recovery mechanisms;

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills; Strong analytical skills and commercial understanding; Software proficiencies in: ECLIPSE (required), Petex, Saphir, and Crystal Ball (preferred).
