Role synopsis

The Senior Reservoir Engineer will lead on a wide range of activities from Reserves estimation and reporting, to field development planning, model building and the development of opportunities for production growth from the ACG asset. He/she will need to help develop the technical capability and deliver nationalization commitments required to sustain business delivery within the Reservoir Development Team.

The Senior Reservoir Engineer will report to the ACG Field-wide Reservoir Management Team leader and will work within a multidiscipline subsurface integrated team.

Key accountabilities

Lead reserves estimation and reporting for ACG, ensuring compliance with BP’s Discovered Resource Management policy

Lead maintenance of ACG full-field simulation model and manage the relationship with the Central Model Team if major updates are required

Lead delivery of ACG ADP and Subsurface Depletion Plan by guiding, reviewing and providing feedback on
Optimized Depletion Plan drilling sequence for the “Annual Work Plan and Budget”
Reservoir uncertainty and risk management
Evaluation of appraisal options to maximize long term value
Define Reservoir Technical limits
Identify and manage delivery of external RE studies (e.g. core / fluid lab analysis) and technology requirements (e.g. LoSalTM)

Liaise externally and actively engage through workshops and meetings with AIOC Partners and SOCAR, and internally with the relevant technical and business Functions

Build the technical capability required to sustain business delivery and deliver nationalization plan
Provide coaching and supervision of less experienced engineers

Essential Education

Degree in Reservoir / Petroleum Engineering or related field

Essential experience and job requirements

15+ years’ experience including :

Reserves estimation and reporting
Field development and depletion planning
Reservoir uncertainty evaluation and management
Reservoir management of major fields
Reservoir simulation experience
Classical reservoir engineering analysis
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Partnership and team working skills
Strong coaching skills
Awareness of business drivers
