Description

This role reports to the US Onshore Subsurface Acquisitions & Divestitures Lead
Evaluate bolt-on opportunities to existing Bakken, Eagle Ford & Appalachian basin assets
Support Corporate-driven opportunities from Business Development and New Access Team
Proven and rapid capabilities in petroleum economic and reserve software (Aries and/or PHDwin) with strong attention to detail and documentation of work products
Ability to gather and integrate commercial assumptions into economic and reserve estimates including coordination with the finance team
Proficiency in understanding field operating statements and summarization into commercial assumptions
Commercial and economic mindset with focus on spending time directed towards value adding projects
Provide reservoir engineering expertise for the US Onshore Unconventional team
Manage, maintain and analyze a large amount of data for developing type curves
Proficient with the use of Spotfire analytics tool
Technical Skills:
Engineering skills from simple production decline and well performance analysis to complete economic analysis
Capable to work with a large amount of data, and present and work with stakeholders, both internal and external
Excellent software skills
The chosen candidate will also build competence and networking with other disciplines in the team as well as with the relevant networks and advisors
Some supervision of both internal and external studies may be required
This position requires excellent communication skills. This includes internal with management and technical positions in the office as well as with our operating partners
Qualifications
Bachelor's in an Engineering discipline or Geology with Engineering or Economics experience
5+ years industry experience
Knowledge and Ability to work with Aries
Position requires strong technical skills, ability to work well with others and a desire to make a difference on potentially large impact opportunities
Independent, self-motivated, creative, results oriented, can work to given deadlines
Very proficient with using databases and the relevant software
Experience with unconventional reservoirs
Ability to effectively use well data and production databases (IHS, Access, DrillingInfo etc.)
Familiar with software such as Excel, Spotfire, IHS Harmony, Aries
Office Based in Austin, TX
