AktauLocal/ExpatOil Operations/ProductionRef.: MO-142082 Maersk Oil Kazakhstan is looking for Senior Reservoir Engineer to be based in Aktau, Kazakhstan 5 days on /2 days off. We Offer Maersk Oil is a fully-owned subsidiary of the global conglomerate, the Maersk Group operates in more than 130 countries. The Maersk Group has five core businesses which besides Maersk Oil include Maersk Line, APM Terminals, Maersk Drilling and APM Shipping Services, which combines the four business units – Maersk Supply Service, Svitzer, Maersk Tankers and Damco.

In Kazakhstan Maersk Oil has a 60% operating interest of the onshore Dunga field in the Mangystau region. The remaining 40% belong to Partex Corporation and Oman Oil Company Limited holding a 20% share each.

Since 2002 Maersk Oil has gradually increased average daily oil production from the field from 1,300 boepd to around 14,000 through production optimisation and field development activities including drilling of new wells and expansion of processing and storing facilities. While carrying out this development of the Dunga field, Maersk Oil has discovered new oil reservoirs that have not been previously commercially developed in Mangystau. These new discoveries will have an impact on the field’s life and could also be of significant importance for the entire Mangyshlak Basin. The company is currently implementing a field development project that will allow further production increase from the field. Key Responsibilities Plan and monitor Reservoir Engineering related operations including logging, well testing, stimulation and injection/production well optimization.
Lead and coordinate WRFM processes
Identify production enhancement opportunities, evaluating and maturing them for implementation
Lead and coordinate reserves evaluation and reporting
Lead and coordinate reservoir characterization and simulation studies
Support subsurface field development evaluation and planning and reservoir management
Prepare Petroleum Engineering reports at all levels (individual wells, patterns, reservoir scale).
Provide mentorship and assist in technology transfer to technical assistants and local engineers. Who we are looking for Bachelors or Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas operating companies
Worked on a variety of reservoir developments and depositional environments
High competence in reservoir simulation essential
Experience in SCAL, PVT, well test analysis
Water flood experience highly desirable but not essential
Good English both verbal and written.
Good organizational and analytical skills.
