The Technology Pilot team will be responsible for continuous improvement in well performance through the maturation of technology in general and hydraulic fracturing technology in particular. The Senior Production Technologist in this team will be a key responsible party in the delivery of fraccing and production pilots.
Support the delivery of a technology maturation plan that will establish a fast and continuous learning curve for improved, cost effective, hydraulic fraccing delivery and improved inflow performance and ultimate recovery.
Deliver Production Technology elements of production pilots of vertical and horizontal wells with the objective to test and assess fraccing options, their impact on reservoir drainage and the applicability to multi-frac horizontal wells for field development.
Establish global networks with Production Technologists and transfer global technology, and in unconventionals technology, to the Shell operations in Oman.
The Technology Pilot Team will be the centre of excellence for hydraulic fracturing modelling, design and executions for Shell in Oman and as such may be called upon to support all fraccing operations in Shell in Oman.
Liaise with the Well Engineering, Subsurface, Well Delivery and Front-End Engineering Teams to design and execute production pilots that best reduce the critical development uncertainties.
Liaise with the Well Delivery Lead to ensure that regular well delivery is utilised to continuously improve frac delivery and effectivity.
Liaise with the Subsurface team to ensure that frac performance properties are adequately captured in reservoir modelling and subsurface development plans.
You are expected to be a role model in a safety culture of Goal Zero and ensure safety and integrity are forefront in the execution of fraccing operations.
Support and advise the Front-End Development Manager with all technology aspects of the project.
Support frequent communication with peers in the area/studies teams, such that opportunities for synergy and transfer of technology are realised.
Ensure pilot plans compliant with the corporate technical assurance framework, process safety design and engineering standards.
Participate in peer reviews, project assists, and formal project reviews with the objective of ensuring projects are properly assured in advance of key decision gates.
