This position is within the Production Technology [PT] Discipline Team of the UK Development Engineering organisation, responsible for delivery of the Production Technology-related aspects of the Jackdaw HPHT Development.

The Senior Production Technologist will have responsibilities for maturing the detailed design of the Jackdaw HPHT wells, integrating the design with the other disciplines within the Project. Om addition, there will be a key interface with Well Engineering to prepare for execute the delivery, hook-up and commissioning of the Jackdaw HPHT Wells.

As wells as this Hydrocarbon Maturation (HCM) aspect, the role will require the incumbent to deliver future Well Integrity, Surveillance and Optimisation activities on the assigned facilities. This includes responsibilities for Operational Well Integrity, applying approved standards, reviewing technical quality of well operating envelopes, identification/assurance of business opportunities of the assigned field(s).

The role may have Production Technologists reporting directly to this Senior position and, therefore require the incumbent to lead PT staff prioritisation and development.
The main purpose of the role is to maximise the inflow and outflow potential of the future and existing well stock, maximising the value of the hydrocarbon portfolio, by contribution to identification and maturation of business opportunities. The role involves discipline-based Technical Assurance for the PT work performed within the location, supporting the Production Technology Technical Authorities (TA1/TA2s) in the Development Organisation. The position may also involve acting as Opportunity Manager for assigned projects.
The successful candidate will be working as a Senior Production Technologist on the assigned Clusters (Jackdaw/Shearwater) operated by Shell in the UK.
The Senior Production Technologist is expected to support the Production Technology Discipline Lead and share and leverage knowledge from within the asset, Shell Upstream Operated colleagues and Shell/external globally to add value to the UK fields, providing support for other Senior Production Technologists. The incumbent will be required to lead other Production Technologists, progress PT discipline improvement plans & opportunities and contribute to the maintenance and advancement of the PT Discipline.

Within assigned field(s), accountabilities include:
Responsible for PT Design & Engineering Practice (DEP) Compliance on assigned fields.
Responsible for the implementation of the HSE Critical Activities related to PT
Accountable for the technical quality of Production Technology work on assigned field(s).
Focus on efficient, lean delivery, especially on pre-Concept Select projects.
Responsible for the quality and compliance of all operational well integrity aspects on assigned fields.
Responsible for quality of PT work/support for drilling, workover and engineering project operations in assigned fields
Within the Development Team, Production Technologists report via the Production Technology line (Functional) to the PT Discipline Lead.
Requirements
A university degree in Sciences, Petroleum Engineering or equivalent, with comprehensive Production Technology experience, leadership capability and demonstrated commitment to HSSE.

Candidate must demonstrate technical and leadership competencies in line with the competency profile for Senior Production Technologists.
Given the need to deliver well designs and production into pre-existing and new production facilities, the incumbent must have the ability to analyse data, assess risks and understand subsurface uncertainties in complex, multi-disciplinary teams. Experience in production Optimisation (WRFM), subsea well operations and HPHT well design/operations will be an advantage.

The successful candidate will have excellent inter-personal/team skills and experience working in a multi-discipline and/or multi-cultural matrix organisation. In addition, the candidate should have good networking and business skills.
