Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Production Engineer within our Permian EOR group. Oxy’s Production Engineers are key members of each Business Unit, providing the link from the subsurface to the surface. They are responsible for optimizing mature CO2 and water flood performance and developing potential new CO2 floods. Primary responsibility is to enhance asset value through the optimization of individual well performance, participation in BU collaboration activities, generation of AFE’s for capital/expense workovers, optimization of artificial lift/stimulation practices, and provide operations engineering support for the field operations team.

Job Duties
Daily well surveillance: optimize mature CO2 and water flood performance through leading well/pattern reviews, identifying opportunities for lift revisions and well enhancements, and conducting periodic and ad hoc reviews. Utilize tools such as OFM, LOWIS, Carte.Utilize CO2 best practices & field management (ie. high GOR wells, daily field communication, etc.).Design, prepare and implement new well completions and stimulations, including acid and hydraulic fracture treatmentsParticipate in management of capital programs including tracking of drilling, completions and new technologies on existing wells from planning to execution and post-audit of performance.Evaluate and provide decisions on artificial lift optimization and change out of equipmentSupport regulatory with filings and may submit directly to regulatory agencyEnsure compliance with all applicable regulations and company HES training requirements and policiesClosely monitor new and existing CO2 floods for chemical program optimization, well enhancement opportunities and CO2/water injection optimizationDevelop well work plans for new CO2 flood implementationUtilize PEEP to calculate reserves and economics, and identify incremental capital and expense workover opportunities, prepare AFE's, and provide economic analysis and justification for proposed projectsMentor Early Career Engineers and team membersActive in communities of practice (PEPAT, Communications Meetings)Travel required
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
Minimum of 10 years of oil and gas industry experience including production engineering, waterflooding, and/or CO2 flooding.Understands and demonstrates sound working knowledge of basic and some advanced technical principles, has applied them to solve routine problems.Well intervention options and execution.Knowledge of artificial lift (beam, ESP, etc.)Surveillance – identifying wells opportunitiesReading and understanding well logsUnderstanding components of detailed well files and histories, and can research digital information.Can provide examples of Project management.Has worked in multi-functional team environment.Understanding of economic programs and data management programs (PEEP, OFM, LOWIS)Good understanding of field operations including facilities, gas plants, workover and drilling operations
