TemporaryCurrently recruiting for an experienced Senior Production Engineer on a contract basis for an Oil and Gas Operator based in Aberdeen. The contract will initially last until the end of December 2019 and the client is ideally looking to get someone in post in early January 2019.
Working within the Production Engineering /Optimisation Team, the Senior Production Engineer will provide petroleum engineering and production optimisation support to operated Assets and Development Teams.
The Senior Production Engineer will have the following main duties and responsibilities:
Safeguarding / managing the production / injection well operating envelope and performance. Identifying and realising well optimisation opportunities in conjunction with Reservoir Engineers and D&C; Engineers.
Overseeing flow assurance in the producing / injecting wells and infrastructure.
Driving the sand management strategies.
Identifying, project managing and driving well interventions and production optimisation opportunity realisation.
Implementing and overseeing the digital oil field (Petroleum Expert’s IFM / IVM) - Production System Optimisation and Well Flow Assurance processes.
Supporting infill well programs – provision of all production technology input (upper completion design, artificial lift design and sand face design).
Subsea interventions (intervention programming / design).
Petroleum engineering support to Subsurface / Development Team.
Driving preparation of technical and commercial justification for well interventions and workovers.
Overseeing third party studies and taking part in some.
Occasional offshore visits in support of project execution.
Qualifications / Experience:
An MSc / MEng Degree qualification in either Petroleum Engineering or Reservoir Engineering, or another related discipline, is essential.
10+ years relevant experience in a similar Production Engineer role within the Oil & Gas Industry is essential.
Recent and direct Senior Production Engineering experience with an Oil and Gas Operator would be preferred.
Sound theoretical petroleum engineering and production technology knowledge is essential.
Experience with industry-standard Petroleum Engineering software methods, including well performance modelling, reservoir simulation, and material balance is essential.
Experience with PVT analysis and interpretation is essential.
Experience with production chemistry issues associated with waterflood reservoirs is essential.
Experience with rock mechanical issues associated with production and injection is essential.
Experience with cased hole logging principles and application is essential.
Experience with metering principles and application is essential.
Experience with well and plant optimisation strategies is essential.
