An independent lead production engineer that will develop assets from initial flowback to end of life with little supervision. Primary responsibility is to optimize oil and gas production at the well and field level. The successful candidate in this position will be working with all business groups and field operations team to help deliver the business plan and targets. Assists in training junior level Engineers.
Identify and carry out production improvement opportunities on wells, facilities, and operations.
Initial well flowback after completion using gas lift and choke management.
Analyze production data in order to recommend downhole and surface configuration(s) of wells and supplementary processes to enhance production of recently completed and older wells.
Design artificial lift systems for horizontal and vertical wells with various producing depths and fluid types.
Provide production engineering support for new well design and operation.
Work closely with the field to optimize artificial lift methods and facility performance.
Design, execute, and review well recompletion and stimulation programs, in order to maximize oil and gas recovery.
Direct and monitor the evaluation of well productivity, well testing, and well optimization.
Maintain the assigned lease operating expense budget; track costs and operational efficiencies on a day-to-day and trend analysis basis.
Track, analyze and report daily production volumes from assigned projects.
Provide AFE and LOE estimates for projects and budgets.
Mentor less experienced engineers and interns.
Knowledge & Skills:
Experience in DJ Basin and shale plays.
Strong knowledge of Gas Lift and choke management in initial well flowback.
Strong knowledge of production facilities, pipeline and compressors.
Knowledge and experience in operating/designing all AFL. (Gas Lift, Rod Pump, ESP, etc.)
Working knowledge of drilling, completion, production and facilities operations
Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented and creative; able to handle multiple tasks and achieve necessary results in a timely manner.
Ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline driven environment.
Proven ability to work in a consultative manner with every level of internal and external customer.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with knowledge of software applications as they relate to completion and production operations; State and Federal Oil and Gas websites, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of safe work behavior and habits.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, e.g., petroleum, civil, mechanical or related field; or expected equivalent education/experience required.
Minimum of 8+ years progressive oil & gas production/completions experience in a fastpaced, multi-demand operation preferred.
