Calgary, ABWho We Are: AlphaBow Energy Ltd is a private, Calgary based crude oil and natural gas producer. Due to significant growth, we are seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join our Calgary Operations Team. This position requires a self-motivated individual to be a part of our day to day operations, supporting and enhancing our field operations and well performance. Production engineers analyze wells, system and financial performance to determine enhancement and cost reduction potential. Candidates are expected to be capable of handling most routine problems independently. Specialized opportunities in the company include the opportunity to work with heavy oil, deep basin gas and enhanced oil recovery from CO2 miscible flood.Job Summary: Reporting to Director of Production, key areas of responsibility include:Operations: Exceptional relationships with field operations in the assigned field(s).Analyze well, artificial lift and infrastructure performance to determine optimization opportunities.Conduct detailed multidisciplinary well reviews to enhance field understanding and performance.Drive activity to improve production and financial performance with the objective to always be aware of cost impacts and benefits.TechnicalIdentity and drive development opportunitiesContinuously evaluate well potential for reactivation, enhancement or suspension.Assist in planning and execution of field and facility projects.Ensure all regulatory requirements are being met and properly documented.Maintain continuous understanding of operating costs and key cost drivers. Identify and drive cost saving initiatives.Identify corporately relevant assets conduct asset evaluation for acquisition and/or divestment and actively participate in acquisition strategy meetings.Clear understanding of shut-in well review process, include IWCP and D13 requirements.Financial/CorporateStrong focus on operations and cost effectiveness.Know and follow all company policies and procedures, including production, safety and regulatory procedures.Develop and monitor production and business performance (budget, forecasting and enhancement).Work effectively with Production Accounting staff to ensure accuracy in PVR and troubleshooting issues as they may arise.Monitor and approve invoicing (through Open Invoice) to ensure accuracy and prompt payment to vendors.Review, challenge and approve JIBs as appropriate for your assigned areas.Other duties as maybe assigned.Candidate Summary: Knowledge of regulatory requirements.Positive attitude and strong sense of team commitment.Ability to influence others through constructive and thoughtful discussion.Above average decision-making skills.Strong communication skills.Strong organizational abilities.Positive attitude.Ability to be open minded and thinking “outside the box” is an asset.Qualifications: Bachelor Science in Engineering or Degree in Engineering TechnologyMinimum of 10 years Operations or Production Engineering experienceValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseFacility Engineering experience would be an assetSoftware experience in Accumap, ValNav, Wellview, Excel, Powerpoint, Zed-iMust be able to work collaboratively in small, fast paced teamsProfessional, team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain partnershipsAdaptable to changing prioritiesStrategic thinker with exemplary analytical and problem solving skills and capacity to identify information and resources needed to complete tasksExceptional organizational and time management skillsOnly the candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.Job Type: Full-time
