As an energetic Petrophysicist Leader with advanced technical experience, you will plan, supervise, coordinate and control the collection, analysis and evaluation of Petrophysical data necessary to predict the presence of hydrocarbons in wells for calculations of oil and gas reserves. This critical function will also support reservoir studies in order to assist in formulating appropriate field development plans. 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
  • Keeping abreast of technological developments, inventions and techniques in Petrophysics through your relationships with outside organisations, you will identify & evaluate potential applications. Where appropriate you will recommend their testing and introduction when justified, and liaise with other departments to ensure their timely, economical and successful implementation
  • You will coordinate with other team members and direct the preparation of logging, coring and testing programs to obtain Petrophysical data
  • Ensuring that collected data yields optimum results with due regard to cost, you will set guidelines for log quality control and personally witness critical or complex tests or logging programs when required
  • Monitoring the performance of the Electric Wireline logging contractor you will ensure quality control of log data. Reviewing monthly bills/invoices for Petrophysical interpretation and wireline logging work, including an assessment of charge accuracy you will also resolve and commercial matters with contractors when appropriate
  • You will provide Petrophysical input in the preparation of fully integrated subsurface static modelling efforts
  • Assure technical quality of Petrophysical work. Participate in assurance reviews of integrated subsurface studies
  • Coach and share knowledge within the function and across other disciplines 
  • Creating a high team morale, you will enable high productivity and motivate a Petrophysics team to achieve stretch targets
Skills & Experience: 
  • Demonstrated success enabling & motivating Petrophysics teams to deliver high quality products
  • Experience in effectively coaching junior team members or graduates
  • Experience performing study work in a multidisciplinary team is critical
  • Senior Petrophysics experience predominantly in an operator environment
  • Appropriately qualified with postgraduate qualifications preferred
  • Suitable software experience critical, particularly Techlog and equivalent packages
