Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Directs and participates in interpretation and evaluation of petrophysical data to determine presence, quality and type of hydrocarbons, fluid contacts, rock matrix constituents and properties.

Coordinates and participates in formulating petrophysical contributions to exploration, appraisal, field development and reservoir studies. Establishes parameters and methodology, guides and advises other team members and less experienced petrophysicists and resolves contractor concerns when required.

Defines terms of reference, scope of work, methodology, parameters, timing and costs for contractors/consultants involved in petrophysical work. Assists in drafting related tender and contract documents, and ensures timely and technically competent completion of work within budget limitation.

Monitors performance of Electric Wireline logging contractor, and ensures quality control of log data.

Reviews and consolidates reports, and liaises with other team members to integrate petrophysical data and study results into team work.

Qualification Required

B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent discipline with a minor or advanced courses in petrophysics, applied physics or math.

Experience Required

8-10 years varied experience in drilling, wireline and petroleum engineering.
