Aker Energy's Reservoir Development team delivers important analysis to both exploration and field development. The team interfaces with other technical disciplines on a daily basis and provide them with advice and interpretations on rock properties and physics.
We are currently seeking a Senior Petrophysicist for a role linked to operate assets currently in planning phase. The selected candidate will be joining Aker Energy's Reservoir Development team in Oslo, Norway.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Interpret CCA and LWD/WL log data and deliver standard property data (users: ResDev, Exploration, Well Planning)
Topics such as shaly sands and thinbed analysis is considered as a standard skillset. Knowledge of this is a minimum requirement
Interpret SCAL data for parameterization of above mentioned interpretation
Interpret SCAL data and deliver Saturation Height Functions to geomodelers
Rock Physics analysis (synthetic data and fluid substitution) to exploration and ILX activities
Complete Offset well studies and deliver input to Blow Out Analysis and well planning
Design data acquisition programs for exploration, appraisal and reservoir development
Support real time operation and decision-making
Develop full understanding of remaining reservoir opportunities that could be economically justified in an effort to maximize production and value from the field
Qualifications & personal attributes:
M.Sc. or Ph.D in subsurface discipline or mathematics/physics
10 years' of petrophysics experience including experience from an operating oil company
Working knowledge of Geology, Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering as well as Drilling in order to be able to interface with other disciplines in discussions
Basic understanding of uncertainty Software skills within Techlog and/or Geolog
Python and/or C++/Fortran/Loglan coding skills are considered an advantage
Preferred experience includes deepwater / West Africa drilling experience as well as experience of working in remote locations and new country start-ups
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to actively seek advice and perspectives from colleagues and leaders within own section as well as contribute to Aker Energy's excellence
Ability to plan and execute all work safely and efficiently
