A key position with a leading Gas Company established to develop and operate one of the largest sour gas reservoirs located in the onshore of Abu Dhabi where the incumbent shall plan and supervise petrophysical analyses by contractors, and performs petrophysical interpretation of individual wells. Also, he shall perform volumetric evaluation of Company’s hydrocarbon reserves.
Assists in the definition and creation of Scope of Work documentation for Wireline and LWD logging services.
Contributes to well proposal documents by assisting in the definition of well evaluation objectives and the Petrophysical logging (tool strings, operational, etc) and possibly coring requirements necessary to deliver on those objectives in a cost effective manner
Works closely with drilling and service providers to ensure adequate data acquisition planning and preparation are in place prior to drilling the well with particular attention to specialist services like MDT, etc.
Provides Petrophysical support to ensure the Shah field static and dynamic models undergo continuous improvement an accurately reflect our evolving level of reservoir understanding and uncertainty.
Mentors junior Petrophysical staff and other members of the Shah subsurface team to enhance their understanding of Petrophysical related topics.
Reports to Geosciences Operation Manager. Regular contacts with other Geologist and other related Engineers to schedule and coordinate work. Frequent contact with contractors.
B.Sc. in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
10 years varied petrophysical operations and/or characterization experience in the oil/gas industry.
