Description

To provide effective surveillance and reservoir
management capability to Petrofac Malaysia. This will involve monitoring and
analysing day-to-day production performance of the Cendor and West Desaru
Fields as well as long term strategic activities in terms of well placement,
production enhancements and new field assessments.

Primary

Duties:
Monitor day-to-day oil production and advise on production enhancements
that can be carried out

Build and run well models in order to ensure optimised oil production

Interface with offshore production crews regarding well tests and daily
monitoring

Offshore well tests, data acquisition and perforating campaigns

Manage sub-contractors effectively

Analyse well test data

Prepare short term production forecasts

Prepare technical and management reports

Communicate daily with offshore production crews

Carry out weekly allocations of production and injection volumes

Analyse and define the cause of well performance failures and generates
candidates for productivity enhancement; evaluate and justify.

Identify data gathering opportunities, evaluate and justify

Discuss artificial lift types with equipment suppliers and Peer Review -
Workshop

Prepare artificial lift design in conjunction with equipment suppliers

Identify hazardous situations and risks involved

Estimate cost & added value of monitoring system

Perform economic & risk analysis

Review well/field performances with the advice of Reservoir Engineering
and Geoscientists for optimum ultimate recovery, to recommend required
workovers for production improvements.

Prepare single well models and network models (nodal analysis) and
ensures all are validated and matched with the actual well data. Use these
models to assist in production optimisation

Analyse individual well gas lift performances and proposes remedial
activities.

Analyse production chemistry effects on well performance and recommend
remedial action if required.

Review historical well stimulation activities and recommend further
activity if justified.

Propose & designs preventative and remedial activities.

Provide an assessment of safety and environmental impact for all
recommendations.

Create cost estimates and manages cost, schedule and quality of the
respective production enhancement services to be executed by service
contractors.

Participate in HAZOP’s, risk assessments and other workshops as required
for project execution.

Provide key link between subsurface group, drilling & well
construction, production operations and other parties.

Interface between the various disciplines in the Project team.

Close-out project for document archiving.

Desired

Skills and Experience:
Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or Earth Science from
recognized university

Minimum 8 years working experience in similar position, preferably
with an oil company

Technical awareness of and familiarity with aspects of reservoir
characterisation, drilling, well testing, well operations, process facilities
and production chemistry.

Very familiar with software covering: well test analysis, well flow
analysis, OFM

Analytical and interpretative skills / expertise in:
Multiphase flow modelling and prediction, including artificial lift
design

Completion architecture and design.

Factors affecting well productivity and operation.

Field Optimisation

Well versed in Microsoft Offices (Excel, Words and Power Point)

Must be able generate ideas and then communicate/discuss idea within
the group

Able to work within small teams so strong teamwork ethic required

Be able to provide suitable references (one character and one
technical)

Willing to travel offshore and outside Malaysia as required
