This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer top to take an influential role within Origin's Exploration & New Ventures team on a 9-month limited term contract.
The position provides Petroleum Engineering support for exploration activities across APLNG's acreage, including working with Drilling, Completion and Facilities Engineers to successfully deploy pilot wells and long term well tests.
Key responsibilities include:
Plan well test operations (DST and wireline formation testing) in collaboration with Drilling and Completions personnel and interpret results to feed into reservoir studies
Select artificial lift systems for pilot wells. Work with operators to optimise operational artificial lift systems to meet objectives
Monitor well integrity compliance
Risk assessment of wells to ensure well integrity is maintained
Evaluate production performance and trends to ensure pilots and trials meet objectives
Design hydraulic fracture stimulation and oversee execution to ensure well objectives are met
Perform reservoir analysis and forecasting to support feasibility assessments
Is This You?
Recognised Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering (or similar relevant discipline); combined with statutory certification to practice as engineer in Queensland (RPEQ / CPEng)
Significant experience in Well Test Design, Planning and Interpretation
Able to select and optimise artificial lift systems, especially PCP and ESP systems
Familiar with Well Integrity requirements
Project Management Skills
Experience in Hydraulic Fracture Stimulation Design, Execution and Performance Monitoring
Ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams including D&C, Operations and Development Engineering
Experience in CSG or tight gas onshore plays is highly regard
