PermanentOur client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Petroleum Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Work with subsurface and operations teams to ensure production is fully optimised via well, reservoir and facility surveillance
Build, maintain and use appropriate petroleum engineering tools e.g. Prosper, GAP, etc.
Work with subsurface and well engineering to identify and mature potential well interventions to increase production and/or gather critical information
Work with subsurface and drilling teams to optimise completion design for new wells and workover strategy
Be responsible for management of production data, identifying, justifying and implementing improvements including completion of short term production forecasts
Interface with operations personnel to ensure subsurface requirements are delivered e.g. during well operations
Required to go offshore when required during critical well operations or workovers
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree qualified - relevant engineering degree
Demonstrate experience in a production environment in a Petroleum Engineering, Production Technology or Well Engineering capacity.
Extensive oil industry experience gained working within Operations, in an E & P operator within UKCS
Working knowledge of petroleum geology, petrophysics and reservoir engineering techniques is essential as the position involves work within a multidisciplinary team
Offshore experience essential, ideally with well completions and interventions
