Baker Hughes, a GE company is currently hiring a Senior Geoscience & Petroleum Engineering Advisor based in Palo Alto, California.
The successful candidate will be part of the HQ Global Geoscience and Petroleum Engineering team (GPE-Global). The main objective is supporting BHGE’s efforts to maintain technology leadership in sub-surface modelling of tight and unconventional plays to drive sales of BHGE solutions.
Provide technical support and review for selected global projects on advanced geo-mechanics for integrated studies. Analyze data and help define the range of key geomechanical uncertainties impacting resource development; drilling, completion and stimulation.
Propose, conduct and deliver 1D and 3D geo-mechanical evaluation using appropriate techniques and technologies to provide world class solutions for clients across all reservoir types and development scenarios of both exploration plays and developed assets.
Extensive experience using JewelSuite & ARGOSTM (3D advanced subsurface modeling) are required to deliver industry leading integrated reservoir studies aimed at delivering optimized field development plans for unconventional and tight plays.
This includes proposing drilling targets, cluster stage location and frac treatment schedules in order to optimize Expected Ultimate Recovery (EUR).
Assist with client visits for opportunity development, review of technical proposals and pricing.
Facilitate research and development success through publishing and presenting at technical conferences and industry forums.
Conduct training courses, as well as mentor and develop talent.
Work with global marketing by developing marketing brochures and web content.
Bachelor’s degree in Geoscience, Petroleum Engineering, or related discipline required
12+ years of relevant work experience in a variety of operating environments
Highly motivated with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, proven Team Leadership skills; strong inter-personal, influencing and communication skills.
Demonstrate expert understanding of all geo-mechanical topics and ability to discuss BHGE tools and applications with clients.
Familiar with using and integrating geological, geo-mechanical and Engineering Data
Well versed in the use of JewelSuite & ARGOSTM software modelling tools as well as other geoscience software.
Ability to develop and promote new solutions and interpretation products.
Strong client focus with good networking skills.
Excellent technical writing and presentation skills.
Ability and willingness to train GPE and / or client staff.
Ability to work both independently, as well as part of multi-disciplinary teams working with an extensive, global client base.
Willingness and ability to travel globally as required.
Master’s degree or PHD preferred
