ConocoPhillips has an open position for a Senior Geophysicist within the Geophysical Implementation Team, which is responsible for all geophysical activities related to acquisition, processing and interpretation of 3D and 4D seismic data in the Greater Ekofisk Area.
The main responsibility for this position is to interpret 3D and 4D ocean bottom seismic data over the Eldfisk field, for static and dynamic overburden and reservoir characterization.
The individual we are seeking should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with production geophysics.
Accountability & End Result:
Strong geophysical understanding with ability to work all types of seismic datasets (2D/3D/4D)
Interpretation and depth conversion of 3D seismic data in support of geomodel structures
Analysis of 3D seismic acoustic impedance data in support of geomodel properties distributions
Interpretation and analysis of 4D seismic (time-lapse) data on producing assets
Utilization and further development of workflows, standards and tools for optimizing value from the 3D/4D seismic datasets
Liaison with corporate Technology group regarding development of tools, concepts and workflows related to value extraction from 3D/4D seismic data
Mentorship of local staff on seismic interpretation
Minimum MSc plus 5 years of relevant geophysical experience
Ability to work and communicate with other subsurface disciplines
Well planning experience
Awareness of seismic acquisition and processing methods
Experience with seismic modelling, concepts and workflows
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to function in a cross-disciplinary setting
