Perth WALacuna Search is working in partnership with KUFPEC Australia, in the pursuit of identifying a Senior Geophysicist to join their existing team. KUFPEC is an international upstream company, engaged in exploration, development and production of crude oil and natural gas in 13 countries, spanning 5 continents.This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to join an organisation that offers challenging, varied and interesting work in a truly collaborative environment.Assigned primarily to KUFPEC Australia’s Julimar and Wheatstone upstream production assets, the preferred candidate is expected to perform the following duties in support of ongoing exploration, appraisal, production and development activities:Critical Role Scope - Undertake 3D and 4D seismic interpretation mapping.Propose and undertake Quantitative Interpretation (QI) studies for reservoir and hydrocarbon pool characterization for updating of geological static and reservoir simulation models and in support of operational decisions.Recommend, undertake and evaluate geophysical studies, including AVO, inversion, QI or any special studies/projects to be undertaken either by Operator, in-house or with third party on KUFPEC’s assets.Recommend and/or evaluate borehole geophysical logging programs.*Further responsibilities will be disclosed for suitable applicants.Experience Required -Bachelor of Science (Geophysics) degree as a minimum.Minimum 10 years’ industry experience within a similar position.Experience working with multinational IOC and NOC’s.Advanced seismic interpretational techniques.AVO, inversion and QI evaluation techniques.Velocity modelling and depth conversion.Good hands-on PC skills and familiarity with relevant geoscience software applications (Petrel, IHS Kingdom, DUG Insight and Petrosys).Highly desirable but not essential - Familiarity with 4D survey acquisition and processing.Exploration and New Venture evaluations experience.Experience with a variety of project types with both large and small companies, in various geological settings, and in a range of operating environments.Having worked on behalf of the KUFPEC subsurface team for a number of years, we understand the importance of cultural alignment with the intension of creating a truly engaged and fulfilled team.
