In all environments, we acquire process and interpret surveys that provide our clients with a comprehensive understanding of their subsurface targets and geological settings. We deliver our unique expertise in geoscience technology and project management through our three complementary business activities: Equipment, Acquisition and GGR (Geology, Geophysics & Reservoir).
The Senior Geophysicist will be part of Geoconsulting’s Houston based Reservoir Team and thus will be required to closely liaise and co-ordinate with the other disciplines that are already part of the Team, namely Petrophysics (Rock Physics), RoqScan interpretation, Petroleum Geochemistry, Reservoir Geology and Geomechanics.
Key to this role is to provide technical leadership with a broad background of technical skills with a focus on geostatistical and deterministic seismic inversion and supporting technologies particularly Jason Geoscience Workbench, Hampson-Russell, Earth Model FT, and Insight Earth. Work integrating and interpreting multiple datasets from geophysical, petrophysical geological and geomechanical outputs.
We are looking for a skilled senior geophysicist who is:
Technically excellent in geophysics (particularly in Jason geostatistical and deterministic prestack seismic inversion) and comfortable working with multiple geoscience datasets.
Focused on quality and efficient project management.
Technically curious and innovative.
Looking to advance quickly and take on responsibility.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will need to be able to demonstrate project management, leadership and mentoring skills and will need to be able to demonstrate innovative solutions to Client’s needs and requirements and apply principles of financial and resource management.
To assist in the building of an incremental reservoir characterization revenue and profit stream based out of our Houston site.
Undertake specific assignments related to analyzing complex geophysical problems and develops techniques and solutions for resolving these problems integrating geological, geochemical, geomechanical and reservoir engineering data.
Interpretation of 3D seismic data, including the application of advanced geophysical techniques such as:
Deterministic and geostatistical isotropic seismic inversion.
Deterministic and geostatistical anisotropic seismic inversion.
To market and develop profitable integrated proprietary and multiclient projects.
To work closely with and fully comprehend the disciplines of petrophysics, RoqScan (automated mineralogy), reservoir geology and petroleum geochemistry and aid in the development of integrated solution offered to customers.
Apply principles of financial and resource management in budgeting and project management to provide consistent profitability.
