Description

DNO is a Norwegian oil and gas operator focused on the Middle East-North Africa region and offshore Norway. Founded in 1971, DNO is Norway’s oldest oil company and holds a leading position in terms of reserves and production in the Kurdistan region of Iraq with average production of 127,000 barrels of oil equivalent for 2019. The Zagros mountains in Kurdistan are home to some of the largest undeveloped hydrocarbon reservoirs in the world where the reservoir rocks consist mostly of fractured carbonates.
DNO has four active rigs in Kurdistan, of which one is at the Peshkabir field and three at the Tawke field with an additional rig on the way for the Baeshiqa PSC. DNO aims to grow by the bit in Kurdistan and drilled two exploration wells in 2018 & 2019 on the Baeshiqa PSC. This resulted in a Triassic discovery from the Baeshiqa-2 well. A third well is now on its way targeting multiple stacked prospects of Jurassic and Triassic age on the neighbouring Zartik structure and aims to spud during spring this year.
Due this exploration success DNO is seeking to appoint an experienced geologist for the continued exploration and appraisal effort on the Baeshiqa PSC. The senior geologist will join the subsurface team that is responsible for the well planning, execution, reservoir characterization and appraisal activities that are related to the license. An important part of this will form the following of ongoing long term well testing and required preparations to move the PSC into its first phase field development stage when successful.
