Job Description:
The senior geologist is responsible for the interpretation of geological data for the purpose of evaluating exploitation and development prospects.

Essential Functions:
Complete regional geoscience interpretations to identify prospective plays including integration of core data, well log data, petrophysical analysis, geophysical data, well tests and/or offset production to generate play maps and detailed cross sections with the goal of identifying and ranking prospective areas for exploration and development drilling
Build and maintain 3D geo-cellular earth model
Create or support basin models and geological models, including detailed structural or stratigraphic interpretations where needed
Develop existing assets by daily interaction with engineering (reservoir management), selection of well completion intervals, and providing geological interpretation to field operations
Select core sites and intervals, and coordinate geological specific drilling requirements
Interpret geological data and calculate pay zones from log analysis
Compile and evaluate historical production and trends in completion techniques
Conduct subsurface evaluations to link logs, stratigraphy, and petrophysical properties to production
Prepares reports and recommendations to management
Ability to plan and manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously, including managing changing priorities under limited supervision
Mentors early-career geoscientists.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor of Science Degrees in Geology or related Geosciences discipline (Masters preferred)
3D Petrel earth modeling experience preferred
Successful track record of prospect generation and finding hydrocarbons
Proficient in drilling and completion operations, with experience drilling vertical and horizontal wells
5-10 years of petroleum exploration experience across multiple basins in both conventional and unconventional reservoirs

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent communication skills (written and oral) for interface with geoscientists, company management, and third party service companies
Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Office applications
Advanced knowledge of geological petroleum system workflows

Physical Demands:
Able to lift up to 25 pounds
Sitting most of the time, but may require walking or standing for brief periods of time

Work Environment:
Office, with minimal travel to field offices and outdoor work sites
