We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Geologist within Permian EOR group based in Houston, TX.

Responsible for geologic subsurface studies, geologic modeling, field development, and drilling and recompletion recommendations that fulfill production goals and add reserves for the business unit.

Seismic sequence stratigraphic interpretation of underdeveloped formations for greater geologic understanding and future field development.Seismic fault interpretation.Incorporate multiple types of data (Seismic, Core, Log, etc.) to establish complete integrated interpretation.Characterize carbonate reservoirs, including flow units and reservoir heterogeneityCreate, maintain, and utilize geological models (Petrel)Calculate OOIPCreate, maintain, and utilize geological maps and cross sectionsWork and communicate well with other disciplines (engineers, petrophysicists, drillers)Perform geologic analysis and operations, including step out drilling, infill drilling, pattern conformance/recompletions.Support pattern surveillance processGenerate logging programs and geologic prognoses


Education: Masters or PhD degree in Geology

Professional/Technical Knowledge: Carbonate geology, Permian Basin geology, Field development

Experience: 7+ years of industry experience or extraordinary knowledge of carbonates and Permian Basin geology.

Begins to participate across multiple assets in processes such as Peer Reviews, CoP's, etc.Provides occasional mentoring to asset or project team members on technical matters.Proactive in seeking assistance from local and company experts on technical matters.Routinely suggests solutions to local BU (outside asset team) on technical issues.Occasionally active in sharing best practices within the company (e.g. Lunch n' Learns, networks, internal technical forums).Focuses efforts on solving relevant business problems with occasional guidance from others.Understands and effectively represents asset & business problems to contractors, vendors, partners, and external groups.Increasingly applies knowledge of Petroleum Economics to drive technical focus.Limited involvement with summer intern or new hire mentorship.
