This is a permanent and residential position based in the Head Office and offers a comprehensive expat package along with family status and relocation.
Scope of Work
Make sure HSE policy is well followed and understood within the team and with every activity /operation required by the Asset
In charge of presenting the asset geological work status and the conclusions to the shareholders with support of team and discipline.
Asset Development & Modeling
Act as technical reference for all the geological studies used as input for reservoir evaluation and field development.
Lead the building of any new reservoir model required by the asset
In charge of updating any legacy model in order to capture and integrate all recent static or dynamic data acquired
Local interpretation adjusting intra layers of the Asset reservoir in conjunction with discipline and according to guidelines.
Ensure and/or Guarantee the assessment of volumes in place and related uncertainties (1)
Define and participate to all the geological studies requested for reservoir evaluations with good autonomy.
In charge of performing uncertainty study for static volume evaluation in order to defined key parameters and ranges.
Assess reservoir uncertainty & define appraisal activities based on reservoir uncertainties
Incorporate structural understanding by integration of seismic data and its derivatives, open hole logs including images, losses, variance and conformance issue information
Integrate the 4D (if available in the area of interest).
Contribute to the phase II development phase maturation.
Follow and contribute when appropriate to phase III development activities.
Responsible for the well targets of the asset
Lead the asset geological contributions to the Opportunity Identification, Maturation and Execution Process (new wells, redrill, watershut off, acid stimulation,...) and operate effectively within the opportunity maturation process
Lead the asset contributions to the well preparation SOR process by providing validated and reliable data to the OGP team.
Active following and contribution when needed to the execute and close out phase of the well delivery process.
Contribute to the development of external communications within the Geology community
Have a transversal role between assets / discipline
Contribute, to a significant degree, to the updating of methodologies and tools
Coach and mentor junior staff and lead asset Qatarization efforts
Must integrate cost & economic dimensions in any decision.
More than 10 years of experience required
Previous experience on carbonate reservoirs is required
International experience is recommended
Must hold an BSc or higher in Geology
Must have worked on target selection with deep understanding on reservoir modeling.
Proven and significant exposure to carbonate reservoirs
Fluent with Petrel
Significant exposure to reservoir modeling in carbonates
Excellent English both spoken and written
Very good communication skills
