Calgary, ABFull-time, Contract$100,000 a yearSenior GeologistPersta Resources Inc., a Calgary-based oil and gas exploration development company, is seeking a Senior Geologist. The position offers drilling and technical opportunities across a range of geographical areas and stratigraphic intervals hosting oil, liquids-rich gas and dry gas.A robust exploitation skillset paired with an exploration mindset will be required to help us position these assets for future efficient and profitable growth.Preference will be given to candidates with a creative attitude and a strong background and experience in planning and safely executing horizontal multi-well pad drilling programs, and the ability to work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment.Qualifications- Essential: B.Sc. in Geology with 10-15 years of Geologist experience in the oil and gas industry- Strong technical knowledge of ultramafic rock types, economic geology, petrology and in using of geological field tools- Experience in the analysis, interpretation, integration and modeling of large, integrated geoscience datasets- Good field skills and experience working across a range of project stages from grassroots prospects through to advanced projects with significant drilling and other geoscience data- Accountable for self-development and seeking support from others to development technical capabilities and/or new skills- Committed to the maintenance of social license to operate, executing technical work programmes, collaborating and coordinating with Project Geologist- Strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate and inspire others, to share ownership and responsibility for project outcomes, and to work effectively in collaborative, interdisciplinary teams- Demonstrated commitment to high standards of health and safety in the workplaceEssential Duties and Responsibilities- Characterize and map plays across and around the company’s land base- Make technically supported recommendations for the drilling of wells in new areas- Planning and execution of field activities such as geological mapping, geochemical sampling, ensuring high quality of new technical data- Advance drilling recommendations through the approvals process to the drilling stage and oversee the drilling operations of those programs from our Calgary office, keep the team and management apprised of the progress of drilling operations- Provide geological and strategic input on opportunities to enhance the value of our acreage such as land sales and postings, acquisitions and divestitures- Responsible for revision of technical dataset to propose ideas that contribute to prospect generation- Responsible for supervision of technical and safety performance of contractors (e.g. geophysics and drilling) in their field activities- Contribute to maintaining field activities on budget and plan, including contractors and providers activities, eg: Geophysics and drillingJob Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: $100,000.00 /year
