CRC is seeking a motivated, experienced individual to fill the position of Sr. Geologist on our Reservoir Evaluation team based in Bakersfield, California. This position is responsible for providing integrated evaluations that include 3D geologic models, to assess opportunities in producing assets. The candidate will work on a multidisciplinary team to identify and accelerate value adding projects.

Responsibilities

Integration of geologic, geophysical, petrophysical, drilling and engineering information to build representative 3D geologic models in Petrel modeling software
Expand and refine interpretations in existing plays and fields as well as generate new development opportunities
Support development of waterflood and EOR projects, including providing geologic guidance to reservoir simulation workflows
Generate probabilistic and deterministic resource estimates
Evaluate sources of uncertainty in the reservoir characterization model
Apply leading technologies as appropriate to reduce identified risk factors and more quickly realize value additions
Clearly communicate information and ideas to team members, and document project results and recommendations to management

Qualifications

Special Skills or Other Requirements

Masters of geology and 10 years of field development and characterization experience
Experience utilizing geological software such as Petrel or similar tool and implementing 3D modeling workflows
Experience with turbidite reservoirs and fracture description
Proficient in the planning and drilling of horizontal wells and fracture stimulation techniques
Preferred background with planning and implementing waterflood, CO2, and thermal projects
Familiar with reservoir simulation workflows and processes
