EGC is an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company whose growth strategy emphasizes acquisitions, enhanced by its value-added organic drilling program. The company's properties are located in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico waters and the Gulf Coast onshore. We are currently looking to fill the position of a Sr. Advisor Geologist in Houston, Texas. This role will report into the Asset Manager.Detailed reservoir mapping integrating subsurface data, petrophysical data and seismic interpretationsWork with Geophysicist, Engineer, Regulatory and Drilling in planning wellsAssess exploration and development risk and reserves potential with company softwareHigh grade prospective areas for acreage acquisition and exploration/appraisal drillingGenerate maps for booking reserves and work with outside auditorsAssist in generating appropriate geologic models to be adopted in the seismic interpretation processWork with Production department to maintain reservoir performance and find opportunities for recompletes or sidetrack candidatesAbility to coordinate and supervise logging operations during actively drilling wellsGenerate and file required Regulatory documentationDocument technical work for budgeting and Investor RelationsMonitor exploration drilling activity in areas of interestOther duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required in GeologyMinimum 15 years’ experience with concentration in Gulf of MexicoExperienced in Field Development mappingExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven success in working in a multi-disciplined team environmentProficient in Geologic Database & Mapping Software (particularly Petra or Petrel)Strong working knowledge of MS OfficePreferredQualifications: Master’s degree in GeologyPreference for candidate trained at major E&P; company with Gulf of Mexico experiencePetra proficiencySMT and/or Landmark Seismic interpretation skills preferredJob Type: Full-time
