Ascent Resources is seeking a very experienced Geologist. This position is located in Oklahoma City, OK and will report to the Director - Geoscience.

This position is responsible for scoping level geology of onshore basins in the U.S and Canada, leading to more detailed analyses with the intention of exploring for and acquiring significant positions in new basins.

Education & Work Experience Required

Masters or Ph.D. in Geological Science
15+ years of industry experience

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluate and recommend the acquisition of geological data sets
Geological mapping and evaluation on a basin-wide basis
Regularly present results to executive management team
Mentor geology staff

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Requirements:
Broad range of experience and knowledge
Thorough knowledge of petrophysics, geochemistry and geophysical techniques
Firm understanding of the economics of and oil and gas plays
Solid presentation skills
Good understanding of drilling, production and reservoir engineering
Work closely with other departments to assess value of potential acreage
Cooperative and professional attitude
