Senior Geophysicist - Exploration & New Ventures
 
Element 6 Recruitment are currently working with a leading international operating company, based in Dallas Texas.
This company are searching for an experienced Senior Geophysicist to work across a wide array of international exploration opportunities.

The Company:
The company are an aggressively expanding, international operating company, with current operations across North America, Central & South America, Europe, Middle East & Africa. They also have significant exploration activities ongoing.
 
The Job:
This opportunity is for a proven oil finder to join an experienced team, evaluating and generating play concepts, conducting integrated subsurface interpretations, generating leads and maturing drillable prospects.
 
As the Senior Geophysicist, you will be:

Developing new exploration opportunities in defined areas, through integrated interpretation of regional data, including geophysical, geological and well data.
Evaluating acquisition and farm-out opportunities and making recommendations as appropriate.
Working as part of an integrated team of geoscientists, engineers and commercial support specialists, all focused on identification of international exploration opportunities.
Using state of the arc geophysical techniques to Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data.
Conducting block and prospect specific evaluations to define prospect areas, play fairways and define exploratory well locations.
Planning and supervising the acquisition and processing of geophysical data.
Working with regional management to agree on budgets for geological and geophysical activities.
Maintaining an up to date awareness of the latest developments in geophysical techniques and technologies.

 
The Right Candidate
As the successful candidate, you will:

Ideally have a BS degree, if not an MS degree in geophysics. 
A number of years of experience of working in exploration & new ventures for an international operating company
Demonstrable experience in international exploration, including both onshore and offshore environments. 
Experienced in integrated basin analysis, play fairway mapping and risk analysis workflows.
Have demonstrable experience in prospect generation, reserve estimation and field appraisal.
Have strong interpretation skills, ideally with experience in HIS-Kingdom software.
Broad-based understanding of applied geophysics, including AVO, inversion & attribute analysis, alongside integration of potential fields and velocity data. 
Be a creative data integrator and idea-generator in an integrated, multi-disciplinary team.
Be comfortable in concurrently managing multiple tasks and areas of responsibility, with large-scale data organisation, integration and synthesis requirements.
