Senior Exploitation/Production Engineer

Based in the Hannover area, we are looking for a Senior Exploitation/Production Engineer who will be a key member of the German team responsible for contributing cross-functional engineering skills to the maturation of exploration and development projects to optimize production and add reserves or resources.  The successful incumbent will also be responsible for the assessment of exploration prospects from an engineering perspective, including generation of type curves, analogue well/field evaluation, reservoir engineering evaluation, and generation of production profiles. Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of potential field development plans, including different development options, selection of an optimal development concept, evaluation of evacuation and facility options and impact on the gas/oil transport network
  • Acting as the Vermilion focal point for Non-operated producing gas fields and providing Engineering input, including responsibility for production forecasting, budget management & partner engagement
  • Economic assessment and screening at detailed level for the portfolio and individual prospects
  • Coordination of, or input to, the corporate Long Range Plan and Reserves/Resources assessment for the GBU
  • Project management of specific projects.  Responsible for defining project plans and project management, ensuring that projects deliver to expectation. Liaise as required with the production/operations and drilling teams
  • Applying oil and gas asset evaluation experience to the evaluation of acquisition or farm in opportunities and the preparation of the associated business proposals

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 10 years production and/or exploitation/reservoir engineering experience
  • Experience in conventional hydrocarbon and tight gas exploitation, reserves evaluations, production forecasts and performed a wide variety of other technical & economic evaluations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and executing exploration and development projects, ideally with a mix of both Production and Reservoir Engineering
  • Experience in conventional oil and gas, and specifically in tight gas developments, including use of hydraulic fracking technology
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in German and English language
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong track record of delivering results; with focus on value creation


  • Petroleum Engineering or other relevant degree
