Position Profile:

Reporting to the COO & CEO, you will be a member of a small multi-disciplinary team. As a senior contributor your role will be to generate strategic growth opportunities through acquisitions, JV, and new play development- focused on conventional and tight oil assets and applying the latest technologies to increase recovery, production, and economic value.

The Sr. Exploitation- Evaluation Engineer will have an opportunity to be involved in major investment decisions with high levels of exposure to the management team.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Prepare and provide engineering evaluation expertise to support potential A&D opportunities
  • Initiate ideas based on a targeted acquisition criteria and internal guidelines for strategic growth opportunities
  • Provide strategic, technical and evaluation support, coordinate efforts with Geoscience
  • Develop and maintain a current list of short-term growth opportunities
    Develop tactical plan in conjunction with Management Team
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team with the aligned goal of characterizing and high grading asset and/or corporate acquisition opportunities
  • Participate in developing strategies and priorities for new Business Development initiatives
  • Generate ideas for new potential plays or areas
  • Preparation and delivery of presentations for management and board approvals

Asset Management:

  • Ability to conduct detailed reservoir evaluations and studies and integrate geological and geophysical data into reservoir engineering calculations
  • Provide engineering input for reservoir characterization and development plans
  • Integrate with geoscience data to develop robust technical interpretation for support of development projects and reserves report
  • Develop cashflow model and project economics for development programs
  • Perform engineering studies and/or pool studies of plays and areas of interest on existing assets
  • Collaborate with operations on well optimization
  • Conduct technical reviews on drilling programs
  • Responsible for preparation and delivery of presentations to management and for board approvals making recommends with specific courses of action

Candidate Profile:

Professional Engineer designation and 15+ years oil and gas industry experience
Previous experience in Business Development/A&D is desirable

Experience maximizing cash flow of producing assets through recommendation of infill drilling, horizontal development, secondary recovery schemes, recompletions, identification of reserve adds, and AFE evaluations

Familiarity with probabilistic reserves estimation and risk assessment experience is desired

Knowledge and experience in plays developed with horizontal drilling and/or waterflood recovery

Excellent communication (both written and oral) and interpersonal skills are required for interaction with team members, other geoscientists, support personnel, management, and contractors, business acumen skills

Ability to organize, prioritize and make decisions under time restrictions

Ability to work well in a collaborative manner with a diverse workforce
