Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking an On-call Senior Engineering Geologist to join our team in Nashville, TN. This person is responsible for planning subsurface investigations, collecting geologic data, performing relevant analyses, and evaluating geologic data for the purpose of assuring that the geologic elements affecting the design and construction of structures (such as building foundations, levees/dams, railroads, highways, etc.) are adequately treated by the responsible engineer.Key Responsibilities  Perform analyses for highly complex geologic/engineering geology projects; Demonstrates competency in a combination of areas including field supervision, technical knowledge, and project managementMotivate, trains and mentors subordinate staff assigned to his/her tasks or projects; facilitates teamwork to achieve maximum results; Understands, applies and oversees safety requirements in the fieldManages and communicates results, budget and schedule information to the client, project manager and appropriate operations managementAdditional Tasks and Responsibilities May be required to make periodic, out-of-town site visitsMay occasionally require work at remote sites around construction equipment, drilling rigs, explosives and environmental contaminationOther duties as assigned

Skills / Qualifications

15+ years of experience is requiredBachelors Degree required; Masters Degree desirableDemonstrated ability to solve complex problemsDemonstrated task and project management skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple projects and personnelDemonstrated maturity in judgment, initiative and client relationsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to establish effective internal and external working relationships
