We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our team and assume responsibility for developing plans and strategies that allow effective movement of our Fort Hills bitumen to market. This exciting, multi-disciplinary opportunity also encompasses planning and optimization analyses for maximizing production values long term.
You will use your expertise to:
Lead the development of bitumen production plans
Coordinate processes for updating site wide major events calendar, long range maintenance strategies with the operations, maintenance and reliability, and technical teams
Perform long term planning and optimization analyses
Assist operational teams in defining strategies to manage risks and uncertainties associated with downstream product movement capability
Lead the analysis of production restrictions and lost opportunity values
Manage multiple, diverse relationships and activities while maintaining focus and balancing priorities
Ensure relevant information regarding deviations to production plans is available to stakeholders in a timely manner
Assist in coaching junior staff and coordinating key activities

Must-haves (minimum requirements):
10 years of experience in technical roles in the oil and gas industry
A Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering
Registered professional engineer status with APEGA
The ability to manage diverse relationships while focusing on maintaining operational priorities
Demonstrated capacity to work and communicate clearly with levels of ambiguity where all information may not be available at the time of a decision
The ability to meet tight deadlines and hold others accountable in the same regard
Alignment with our values
Strong proficiency in Microsoft office suite
Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:
You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Occasional travel to our Fort Hills site is required
