The Role:Subsurface mapping and the integration of seismic data with geological/well data to develop fit-for-purpose subsurface depth structure maps and provide input for reservoir models. Interpretation of relevant seismic data, leading to the identification and maturation of in-field and near-field drilling targets and production improvement opportunities. Provision of geoscience interpretation and support during well planning and the operational phase of development drilling. Peer Review and mentoring responsibility for seismic interpretation and geophysical activity across the UKBU Responsible for coordination of safe and effective Geophysical data acquisition and site surveys. Work closely with other specialists within the fields of reservoir engineering, geology and petroleum engineering in a multi-discipline team approach to reservoir development and production optimisation. Active participation in relevant external reviews, JV meetings and other ad-hoc technical meetings, representing Premier as operator. Major Challenges The ability to characterise and succinctly articulate business-focussed recommendations and the associated risks and uncertainties to other relevant disciplines and Management. Ability to work effectively within a multi-discipline team environment and provide technical leadership within the geoscience discipline. Abilty to work at pace to deliver fit-for-purpose interpretations on schedule, as required. Management Relationships (include direct / indirect reports, external parties) Direct reports (internal employees / external parties): N/A Indirect (internal employees / external parties): Qualifications A degree in Geophysics, Geology or a related discipline. Preferably with a post-graduate qualification in Petroleum Geoscience, Geophysics or related discipline. Candidate Profile (include Skills & Experience, Attributes, Behaviours) Skills / experience: Extensive experience as a development geoscientist with an E&P Operator working on operated field development projects and producing assets. Strong interpretive geophysical skills including classical seismic interpretation, structural geology, seismic attribute analysis, rock physics, depth conversion and well-tie analysis. Experience in building structural frameworks for geological reservoir modelling (e.g. Petrel). Experience in recognising shortcomings in seismic datasets and recommending, planning and optimising seismic acquisition and processing projects to address these. Geological operations and well planning experience, coupled with a good understanding of drilling and production operations. Experience of 4D seismic acquisition and interpretation. Proven abilty to bring forward clear, business-focussed recommendations and appropriate work programmes to influence the business and improve production and/or reserves. Ability to work at pace to produce high quality and fit-for-purpose subsurface interpretations and maps on schedule, as required to evaluate new development and in-field opportunities. Knowledge (e.g. systems, software, procedures, regulations): Proficiency in the use of seismic interpretation and mapping software (e.g. Petrel) and specialist seismic attribute analysis. Practical experience and knowledge of reservoir model building and an understanding of how geophysics relates to reservoir engineering and petroleum economics. Systematic approach to uncertainty management and the ability to work with limited data. Good awareness of latest industry innovations and technology.
