An opportunity is available to join a highly-regarded oil and gas operating company in the role of Senior Development Geologist based in the Company's New Plymouth office.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a high-performing subsurface team on some technically complex assets.
Responsibilities will include;

Providing leadership and oversight of the static model generation process and reservoir characterization framework for dynamic model simulation
Developing robust geological models and concepts using a sequence stratigraphic approach integrated with 3D seismic datasets
Providing geological oversight to well operations, completions and stimulations, and interfacing with the well engineering team
Proposing and delivering wells and recompletions to meet production and resource maturation targets
Working with drilling and completions and operations geologists on well design and formation evaluation programmes
Formal and informal mentoring of more junior staff members
Contributing to peer review/assurance of other teams

Suitable candidates will have;

Tertiary qualification in Geoscience
At least 14 years of experience in the petroleum industry
Experience in reservoir characterisation and modelling in a variety of geological settings
Experience delivering the geological aspects of well planning, operations and completions projects
Experience in tight-gas reservoir characterisation and field modelling (desirable)
Expertise in reservoir characterisation, sequence stratigraphy and facies modelling
Demonstrated ability in leading static model generation as well as experience in model building and updating the models following dynamic modelling and well results.
