Undertake geological interpretation and analysis using appropriate techniques and technologies to provide world class solutions for the client;
Provide geological input to multi-disciplinary projects, including resource evaluations, field development studies, reservoir characterization and unitisation and redetermination assessments;
Construct and audit geomodels for assets from frontier exploration and new field developments to mature producing assets. Key skill is to understand the uncertainties and limitations at the various stages of asset development;
Generate and present data interpretation and reports to clients either individually or as part of the larger project team;
Advise clients on geoscience matters, often at a senior level;
Project manage projects including managing the project team, project deliverables, maintaining frequent contact with the client and ensuring adherence to timescales and budgets;
Provide geoscience support and mentoring advice to colleagues;
Mentor the development of less experienced geoscience colleagues;
Assist the business development team in delivering new projects;
Present and attend technical conferences and forums to represent GCA.
Masters Degree in Geology/Geoscience or equivalent as a minimum
Previous experience with an E&P Operating Company and/or international consulting group.
Development/Production Geologist with a broad range of experience gained from working for an Operator on a range of assets from select/define through to project execution, with exposure to mature field redevelopment and reservoir surveillance;
Mastery of geoscience skills required for resource estimation (Prospective Resources to Reserves);
Advanced geomodelling skills (preferably using Petrel), and ability to quickly identify “industry best practice” in geomodelling;
Demonstrate strong technical uncertainty assessment and quantification capabilities;
Ability to work independently, but also to deliver as part of a team;
Strong understanding of all aspects of petroleum geosciences, including seismic interpretation, petrophysical analysis and reservoir engineering principles;
Experience of working in the “consultancy environment” would be a benefit;
Excellent report writing and presentation skills;
Capable of travel flexibility.
