Description

Core Accountabilities

  • The role is accountable for geophysical characterization of volume, risk and value, including recommendations regarding:
  • Discovered resource opportunities
  • Exploration prospectivity
  • Seismic data quantity, quality, and applicability to the evaluation
  • Responsible for the integration of geologic context with geophysical characterizations, scaling from plate to pore as needed.
  • Responsible for setting/achieving clear performance goals within context of team priorities

Qualifications:

MSc or PhD in geophysics

Core competencies will include:

  • Expert level understanding of Geophysics
  • Acquisition, processing and velocity analysis
  • QI and attribute analysis
  • Geophysical interpretation
  • Geological integration
  • Integration of Rock Physics with geology, Geomechanics, Petrophysics
  • Potential Fields
  • Volumetric assessment
  • Risk and Uncertainty
  • Probabilistic Theory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across functions and businesses
  • Coaching Ability

Experience & Technical Competencies:

A minimum of 15-20 years in Exploration and Appraisal Business is strongly preferred
