Are you a structural engineer specialized in seismic design? We are currently looking for a specialist who would work on rehabilitation, repairs or upgrades of buildings damaged by earthquakes stemming from gas extraction.
As a seismic structural engineer, you are responsible for re-designing existing structures that should remain safe and should be able to withstand any further minor and major earthquakes. You will work mainly on masonry low-story building, which can be 100 years or more old and which were not originally designed against earthquakes. You will develop structural design criteria, methods and models for seismic vulnerability and risk assessment. You will perform linear and non-linear analysis. You will work mainly from the office, with occasional visit to the site.
Min. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Earthquake Engineering or any other related field
You have 3-10 years of experience with structural design engineering related to seismic/ earthquake engineering projects
Background in building structural design (concrete, masonry, and steel) is preferred
Strong interpersonal communication skills in English and willingness to learn Dutch
