The Exploration Operations Department is actively seeking a top Seismic Data Processing Geophysicist to join their world class team. The successful candidate will possess hands-on processing experience, either with a seismic data processing contractor, or with a major oil and gas firm. You will have expertise in seismic data processing, preferably with exposure to technology development.You will demonstrate previous experience as an effective decision maker in land, transition zones, and marine processing, with a preference given to marine seismic time processing. The candidate will show evidence of having worked to implement new methods, and technologies for the solution of geophysical challenges. Key challenges to have addressed will include multiples, noise (land in particular), statics, and resolution. Preferably, candidates will be able to show clearly their individual technical contributions, as opposed to being part of others work. Minimum RequirementsAs the successful candidate you will hold a Bachelors degree in Geophysics. Alternative disciplines would include physics or geology.You will have a minimum of 10 years experience of center-based, hands-on processing, either with a seismic data processing contractor, or with a major oil and gas firm, with exposure to technology development.Exposure to programming and software development for seismic data processing is advantageous. Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, and assist in developing seismic data processing from a technology perspective.An important responsibility will be to implement new methods, and technologies that provide solutions to geophysical challenges. You will be a key member of the team, responsible for making effective decisions in land, and transition zones in marine processing, and marine seismic time processing. Other aspects will include dealing directly with interpreters/clients, presenting work, and making recommendations to improve seismic data processing.You will function in a leadership based role, mentoring and training less experienced colleagues, providing structured training as required.
