The Seismic Data Analyst will be supporting a F500 Oil & Gas Company on a 1 year contract located in Spring, TX.
Assist and work with numerous teams to provide application level support for an assortment of geoscience applications (e.g. Petrel, Paradigm Suite, RokDoc) in both Windows and Linux operating systems.
Ability to package applications for the Windows environment, including understanding of environment (registry edits, environmental variables, etc.), able to thoroughly document packaging install instructions, understand PowerShell scripts for wrappers, and virtual machine knowledge for pre-package testing.
Base understanding of Linux environment and how apps deployed in Linux including an understanding of disk mounts and servers in Linux environment for troubleshooting, ability to write Linux scripting.
Some SQL knowledge beneficial as well as some license management knowledge.
Able to communicate effectively with vendors.
Assist with application upgrades, benchmarking, basic application testing (non-geoscience), application (non-geoscience) and operating system troubleshooting and day-to-day application level support (disk maintenance, daemon maintenance, database management).
Educate users how to connect to remote systems through PUTTY, VNC, RGS, etc. and to our varied compute environments (Windows, Linux, high performance computing clusters, etc.).
Document findings and create tutorials / how-to guides for many of the above.

Desired Skills or Experience: Overall understanding of Upstream or Geoscience user groups beneficial not required. Experience with GeoScience applications (e.g. GeoScience applications: Petrel, Studio, GeoFrame, Paradigm EPOS Platform, RokDoc, TechLog) is also desired. Familiarity with Agile workflows nice to have but not required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent IT/CS computer related field.
