The Exploration Operations Department is actively seeking a top Seismic Data Imaging Geophysicist to join its world-class team. The successful candidate will possess hands-on processing experience, either with a seismic data processing contractor, or with a major oil and gas firm. You will have expertise in seismic data processing, multicomponent processing, or near-surface processing, preferably with exposure to technology development.You will demonstrate previous experience as an effective decision maker in land, transition zones, and deep marine time processing, with a preference given to transition zone and deep marine seismic time processing. The candidate will show evidence of having worked to implement new methods and technologies for the solution of geophysical challenges. Key challenges to be addressed will include multiples, noise (land in particular), statics, and resolution. Preferably, candidates will be able to show clearly their individual technical contributions, as opposed to being part of others work. Minimum RequirementsAs the successful candidate, you will hold a bachelors degree in geophysics or alternative disciplines including physics or geology. Other disciplines can be considered in conjunction with relevant work experience.You will have a minimum of 10 years of experience of center-based, hands-on seismic data processing with a seismic data processing contractor, or with a major oil and gas firm, including exposure to technology development. Exposure to programming and software development for seismic data processing is advantageous. Duties & ResponsibilitiesYou will be required to perform the following:Work within a multidisciplinary team, and assist in developing seismic data imaging from a technology perspective.Implement new methods and technologies that provide solutions to geophysical challenges. Take responsibility for making effective decisions in land, transition zones, and deep marine seismic time processing. Liaise directly with interpreters/clients, presenting work and making recommendations to improve seismic data imaging.You will function in a leadership-based role, mentoring and training less experienced colleagues, and providing structured training as required.
