Job profile summary:
Responsible for ensuring robust subsurface description and clear articulation of the surface uncertainties and risks of the field to underpin delivery of the team's objectives, providing geophysics expertise to maximize the value of BP’s assets through the safe and efficient progression of resources from reserves to production.
The role will be focused on the following areas:
Lead the delivery of the 4D R&D; project including development of new 4D workflows.
Work with the technical leads and specialists from RD, UT and exploration to ensure knowledge transfer and identify R&D; needs.
Initiate and lead the delivery of new R&D; projects, based on Region needs.
Coach and mentor junior staff and provide technical assurance support.
Lead and deliver geophysical analysis projects; Including agreeing scope, deliverables and budget with Exploration or RD teams
Ensure BP best practice, at the appropriate level and the appropriate time, is being applied in all areas.
Provide feedback and assurance during formal and informal peer reviews.
Keep involved in and support the appropriate CoPs and Networks.
Keep abreast of external advances in geophysical techniques
The role will involve working closely with external software vendors.
Conducts technical discussions with management and shares best practice and technical skills across all the assets.
Participate in University Consortium meetings
Contribute to Technology reviews
